Why Me?
Marilyn Newman Realtor Vallarta
If you haven’t asked yourself, why should you work with me? Well, maybe you don’t even know me; if you are reading this and you didn’t know I exited before, you will now, and I’m going to tell you: Why Me.
If you are looking to buy or sell a property in the Vallarta area (Bahía de Banderas north and south and all points in-between), you need to read this.
If you are already working with an agent in this area, hold them to the light and see what they are made of and ask yourself if you should continue with them.
Customer Service- This one isn’t too hard. Are they friendly, knowledgeable and quick to respond? Your agent should be getting back to you within the hour, even if it is to send you a brief text message letting you know they are tied up and will get back to you as soon as they are free. I am a full-time agent with Coldwell Banker La Costa Realty. I love what I do and working with you is my #1 priority.
Convenience- Do they make it easy for you to do business with them? If they are high maintenance, you don’t need them. Are they conveniently located and easy to access? Not able to come to me? I will come to you. Not a problem. Need copies of your documents? Not a problem. Want advice? Not a problem.
Culture- Are they part of an organization or team with which you want to be affiliated, and your values are congruent with their own? Your agent should be reflecting your values. You are in a relationship with your agent and a shared value system is the key. I am originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am grounded in dirt, my friends. You can’t find anyone as unpretentious and down to earth as I am. I make it my business to relate to people. It is what I do.
Trust- Do they do what they say, every time? This builds trust and confidence that you can rely on them. If they don’t follow through on the smaller issues, what will they do when it comes to larger issues? I have a saying that, I might not always tell you what you want to hear, but you can be assured I will always tell you what you need to know. I say what I mean and mean what I say, to put it in terms of a cliché. This goes back to my Oklahoma roots.
Reputation- Have you heard good things about them and their brokerage? Friends, colleagues at work? Reputation is a big part of the decision. I have lived in Puerto Vallarta going on 29 years. I was sitting at a dock in Marina Vallarta on my sailboat on January 1, 1990. I have a reputation for being honest, trustworthy and ethical, both in my personal relationships and professional. I guard my reputation as a badge of honor.
Consistency- This ties in with trust and reputation. Outside of lying, if there is something that erodes trust quicker than anything, it’s a lack of consistency. I believe in being consistent. Some might say I’m consistently a b—ch… this doesn’t mean beach. But what it really means is, I am always the same and always tuned in to your needs. I love what I do. Why wouldn’t I keep doing it?
Your Way- What is your way? Does your agent know or care? Agents need to understand what you want and give it to you the way you want it. I believe this is about you, not about me, so why shouldn’t it be your way?
Their Way- The way your agent does business, whether it is their process, policies, availability or area of expertise. These are very tangible reasons that give you insight on why you would do business with them and why you should keep going back. If you would not do business with your agent a second time, why are you doing business with them now?
My business is based on repeat clients. Buying, selling, whatever you need, I will take good care of you the first time and every time.
